Kalela Waterfall in Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province

The region even has lots of beautiful waterfalls to explore. One of them is located in Beru Village at Jereweh Sub-District, which is called Kalela Waterfall. The route is challenging, but the panorama is satisfying.

The Nuance
Unlike regular waterfalls, Kalela has a unique appearance. The water discharge falls directly from a rocky cliff and it creates holey and steps appearance (which is similar to a cave). On the cliff, tourists may see numerous tall trees and their vining roots. Below the waterfall, tourists may find a small pond with its Tosca water. The combination of these unique features indeed creates a breathtaking nuance, no? Also, the water discharge is considered low! That means tourists can take shower under the waterfall in a comfortable manner.

Exploring Kalela Waterfall
The first motive why many tourists are interested to visit Kalela Waterfall is due to the trekking chance. It is because everyone needs to pass through several landscapes in order to get there, including local farms area. The rocky route makes the trip more challenging, too! For the information, the waterfall is located on a hill. That means tourists need to spend some stamina and effort to reach the site. Some people even need the help of a local guide when it comes to the direction.

One of the features in Kalela Waterfall is the presence of a big tall tree with tons of vining roots, located on the cliff of the waterfall. Instead of being an eyesore, both the trees and roots give a special beauty to waterfall! This explains why tourists won’t miss the chance to take photos during the visit. The next attractive feature is definitely the stunning color of a small river that resides below the waterfall. It has blue greenish water, which lures everyone to get in it.

At noon, the ray of the sun shines brightly passing through the tree cracks. It definitely looks beautiful and hypnotizing. Some people who are suffering from the heat and tiredness due to trekking, they can simply get in the water and take a bath in it! The water refreshes both the body and mind! Somehow, it helps them relieving stresses too.
